The Mine Safety and Health Administration documents and archives workplace deaths related to extractive work in the United States. These archival documents, called Fatality Bulletins, often include an illustration or photograph which is called the ‘fatalgram’ in a bulletin. We have begun a series of work utilizing the archival pictorial elements as a medium in stereograms - images that contain a hidden 3D element otherwise known as Magic Eye images. By rendering of 3D modeling depth maps, we imagine the perspective of the depicted worker in the scene that is embedded into a stereogram made up of the fatalgram image itself.
